Hojicha

Roasted. Masculine. Smokey.
 
Created in Kyoto, Japan, the tea is roasted at high temperature in a porcelain pot over charcoal. This is where the nutty and earthy favour incorporated into the tea leaves. Caffeine contents reduced during the high heating process leaving Hojicha very little caffeine. It is a great all day drinking tea, but it shines with dinner. Try it hot or cold.
 
NOTE: Over-steeping or over-temperature will result in bitterness and a less balanced flavour.
